Precautions for wearing OK glasses

OK glasses have enabled many nearsighted people to remove their glasses and see clearly without wearing glasses during the day. However, OK glasses are not just put in the eyes casually. Similar to contact lenses, if the operation and care are not in place, it will also alarm the eyes!
OK lenses, also known as orthokeratology lenses, are custom-made according to the corneal shape using high-oxygen-permeability rigid materials. Their reverse geometry design scientifically reshapes the cornea during wear without altering its structure. Suitable candidates must meet specific criteria: they should have no contraindications and their myopia or astigmatism must be within certain limits. Additionally, detailed requirements apply regarding corneal curvature, wearer age, and overall health status.
Before putting on any contact lenses, ensure thorough cleaning and complete disinfection. Before wearing OK lenses, follow the seven-step handwashing procedure to clean your hands thoroughly and dry them promptly afterward. After removing the lens from the solution, always examine it under a light source for details, paying special attention to edges for any notches or cracks these imperfections can easily scratch the cornea. If you notice any issues, contact your doctor immediately to replace the lens.
The technique of lifting eyelids when putting on glasses is crucial and directly determines success. For those with sensitive eyes that blink frequently, press the base of your eyelashes instead of the eyelid with two fingers. Alternatively, place the lens on the whites of your eyes first it will naturally slide into position. After securing the lens, avoid blinking immediately. Close your eyes and rotate them several times to ensure proper alignment. The lens will then adhere firmly to your eyeball like a suction cup.
After removing the lens, care should not be ignored. It is necessary to rub and rinse immediately to thoroughly clean the dirt, and then completely soak the lens in the care solution for at least 6 hours, so as not to reduce the sterilization effect due to insufficient time.
Eyes need careful care, and so do OK glasses, so as to control myopia and protect eye health. When the eyes are uncomfortable, you must not be careless. If the foreign body feeling is strong or the eyes are blurred, you must take off the glasses immediately. If the symptoms do not relieve after a period of observation, you should go to the hospital for examination as soon as possible.
