Why do contact lenses look fake and unnatural?


I tried to wear contact lenses in the hope of improving the effect of my eye makeup, but it turned out that my eyes were dull and unnatural, which was completely inconsistent with the expected effect. Why?
First, it may be that you are not used to looking at the mirror. It is normal to feel a little unnatural when your eyes suddenly have an enlarged effect. If it is your first time wearing them, it will be easier to accept small diameter and more natural colored contact lenses.
Second, the colors may appear unnatural. Blue-gray tinted contact lenses, often referred to as hybrid lenses, can clash with the iris color or contrast sharply with the yellow skin tone of Asians, making them look out of place. Therefore, wearers might need to adjust their appearance by dyeing their hair lighter, using eyebrow makeup to lighten their eyebrows, choosing a whiter foundation, or opting for more dramatic styles like cut-out eye makeup or smoky makeup.
Third, the parameters of contact lenses are not suitable. Some colored contact lenses with a diameter of 14.5 will excessively enlarge the pupil, resulting in an imbalance between the proportion of white and black eyeballs, which will become similar to the effect of "comic eyes", making the eyes look like there is a misalignment of focus and losing the real beauty.
Fourth, the design of the color patches has flaws. The dark outer ring and radial lines create a more pronounced magnification effect, while the gradient is intended to make the color transition smoother. However, some innovative and unique patterns do not adequately consider the effect of the lens rotation when designing highlights and other elements, which can result in an odd appearance when worn.
Given the wide variety of contact lenses, beginners often find themselves repeatedly encountering issues. Therefore, it's crucial not to follow trends blindly when choosing contact lenses. Instead, consider your eye color, skin tone, preferred look, and the occasions you plan to wear them. This way, you can avoid the risk of your appearance being significantly compromised by wearing contact lenses!
